 PRINCIPAL’S MESSAGE

School District No. 40 (New Westminster) has just completed its first two-week Spring Break. I would like to hear the thoughts of parents about the extended break – was it positive, negative or somewhere in-between for your family? Your feedback to my email address This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. would be appreciated.

April, May and June are always the busiest months of each school year. At this time of year school staff are simultaneously in the thick of instruction, preparing for all the year-end events associated with graduation, and planning for the 2014/15 school year. Part of the planning for 2014/15 is tied to the Board of Education developing its preliminary budget for next year. The month of April is your prime opportunity to provide feedback and input to the elected Trustees and Senior Management staff of the School District about the district’s spending priorities. This month there are a series of planned consultation opportunities designed for this purpose for parents and members of the public. Information about these events has been posted on the school website at www.nwss.ca and on the School District website at www.sd40.bc.ca. I encourage you to attend.
